Local agricultural sector though suffers from over reliance on traditional methods, which obviously has an adverse impact on overall agricultural production. That said, agricultural sector still manages to generate sufficient number of employment for locals here. Aside from agricultural sector, other competitive sectors like industrial and service sector play a very peripheral role. However, decent number of Fingeshwar’s locals are employed in many small/medium scale factories operating in adjoining villages and towns. Over all, economy of Fingeshwar is still largely underdeveloped that is expectedly depend on agricultural sector for its sustenance.

Healthcare Services in Fingeshwar

Fingeshwar faces severe infrastructure problems in many key areas including healthcare. There is severe lack of well equipped hospitals and also qualified doctors in this village. Although government run Primary Healthcare Centers (PHC) are running in many adjoining villages and towns, but few PHC’s obviously can never effectively look into healthcare services of an entire village. This unpleasant scenario leaves patients with no option but to migrate to other towns that have no dearth of well equipped hospitals. These towns mainly happen to be Rajim and Mathpurena. Besides, major cities like Raipur, Bilaspur and Bhilai are also highly preferred destination for patients of Fingeshwar village. The one very positive thing about Fingeshwar Village is that it does have decent number of local chemist shops. Their decent presence is without a doubt a major relief for all the local patients here.

As it is small towns always have very few auto rickshaws to cater to their local commuters. Same is pretty much true about Fingeshwar village, where current number of auto rickshaws can be described either as just about decent enough or not too bad. And Fingeshwar’s status a small village also means that here there are absolutely no cabs or city bus services. The existing decent numbers of auto rickshaws have to bear all the burden of local transportation services. As for connectivity is concerned, then for travelling to other parts of Chhattisgarh local citizens of Fingeshwar have to travel to either Mahasamund or Rajim Railway Station. These two railway stations are nearest railway station to Fingeshwar Village – located just 17 kms away from Fingeshwar.

Banking Service in Fingeshwar

At present only two or three reputed banks are operating their branches here. In respect to Fingeshwar’s current population, i.e. approximately 10,000, then current number of banks available in the village cannot be considered as satisfactory. This village is certainly short of another 4 to 5 reputed banks. This shortage is compensated by small unregulated players like private money lenders and small micro finance companies. Although they are not desirable alternatives, but their presence is very much needed in a small villages like this, where number of banks are always less.
